Trading very big money

you basically have to take the other side of very big runs... if the market is up for a year.. you have been selling the whole time.. if the market is down all you do is buy... otherwise there is no liquidity

How would you trade an account of size say $10 billion?
As we all know trading big money and making comparable profits like small money is not that easy.
So, what are the best classes of instruments to invest or trade that big money for making the most profit?
In answer to your question: all of them... Hire a bunch of specialists to look at different mkts, et voila.

If you have $10 billion no one would trade for pennies... own real estate/business. Look at the richest 100 people on Forbes List, no one is vag trader there, they own businesses.
That's the core of the question. I was thinking that one can profit best/highest by trading such big money,
but you say there are more profitable ways like owning real estate/business, ie. investing. Is that really truly?
What about the big banks and investment houses? They are more active with trading than owning property, isn't it?
How much profit is possible with real estate and business, maybe 10% p.a.,
I think by using active trading one should be able to make much more than what is possible with investing in real estates/businesses.
The problem with such big money is of course finding markets and counterparties for making big trades.

You're a Blue Whale at this level, you're Multiple Blue Whales. -- it's kind of impossible to make a killing at this stage.
Why worry/think about these kind of scenarios...spend your time worrying/thinking about your own small real trading life -- no offense.
o_O:rolleyes:
Because I somehow need to make about $750 billion in 5 years, starting only with $10k... :)
So, I want to be prepared... :)
Ie. making about 20% per month by active trading 5 years long, or looking for easier methods to achieve that goal.

Most billionaires invest in traditional instruments like real estate, forex , bonds.

A typical billion dollar portfolio contains(percentages might change due to their own preferences)
8-10% real estate
3% commodities
10-50% stocks (especially their company's stock)
30% in bonds + forex
atleast 5% in cash

They start a family office who control everything and take 1-3% of the profits you make. Most billionaires investors either start a family office or invest in a hedge fund. Reason? A company = low tax and protects him from large losses.

If you're taking about everyday trading..no. They don't dump tens of millions of dollars on a stock, especially in the open market. Either OTC, or pre-open or they have sophisticated buying algorithms which hide their large volume by dividing into appropriate amounts.
