Trading the ES live-the Brooks way

A helpful pointer for those into Brooks:

Years ago there was a user here NoDoji, who leaned heavily on Brooks' methods and appeared to do well. She hasn't posted in many years, but she along with Handle123 were people I learned a lot from on this forum back in the day.

Hello Georgii,

Please let my friend @padutrader trade in peace.

He is the best trader that I know.

Let that man trade in peace, he does not need advice about trading from anyone.

Let him enjoy his life in peace.

I remember NoDoji. As best I remember she only traded crude oil and "struggled mightily" as I recall. But then I never saw her P/L statements so who knows, maybe she did eventually become successful.

Everyone who has made it has struggled mightly, lol. Those who made it straight out the gate always get humbled, and humbled some more. I just found her advice to be of value, as in it produced results. But again, I just used concepts and did my own homework. She for her part did that as well. Nobody can succeed without doing the homework and research and screen time.

Perhaps NoDoji did eventually become successful, I have no way of knowing. I saw most of her post were about trading crude oil so I didn't pay much attention as I didn't trade that product. 2008 thru 2011 I was too busy losing insane amounts of money trading stocks. LOL

From my experience, Posters disappear either due to Trading becoming less profitable than other activities or they just can't succeed at it eg ZG.

I am learning from Brooks, but I'm not a Day Trader.

What I like about @padutrader is the wisdom he provides, whether from his successes or failures.

Three cheers for The BombayBandit.

Or they succeed and realize that there is way too much drama and noise on forums, lol. Don't take someone's absence as a sign they blew up or gave up. I traded with a group for a while, but I really only grew after I unplugged. Popping in every now and then can be fun, but there is no need to stay on here all the time like when I was in my early stages.

Trading is a lonely business the general Public don't have a clue about or at times respect (ie "it's gambling"). Thus our need for interaction on here.

Most who disappear long term would be failures, unless they interact with other Traders elsewhere.

People go through periods of wanting interaction and not needing it or even finding it distracting. It's very personal.

When you've come a certain distance it becomes pretty painful to read the same posts over and over and over again, of the blind leading the blind, etc. Yes, there are some very cool people here but it's more fun lurking usually. To each their own.

But yes, most people fail at this and they drop out, which is of course the right thing to do for them.
