Long term, once Positions get to break even stops, they stay there for life or readjusted to next contract month as most of what I trade is Futures.
I bought dividend stocks in 2009 and sold 100% of them last year, when next door neighbor got equity loan on his house to trade Bitcoin. All backtesting done, for long term shows me wide stops allows for large gains long term.
I did weekend with Seykota and others 15 years? ago in Tahoe. Was interesting as I recall, "Tribe".
Great! Glad you did all that.
StairSteps was designed for the stock market trends, long term trends .... like QQQ and so on.
There is one other guy you might know about ................ Jack Schannep ............ he is like Seykota and Bassetti and runs long-term trends. He is the Founder/owner of the Dow Theory gang - one of them as there are 3 in total I believe.
I believe Jack uses the same type of Stops at 5% as Bassetti but I am not sure of this.
Wide stops esp. in semi parabolic moves develops one otehr worthwhile feature - kahunas .......... as the price rises and rises and rises to yuge height in just one wave and thenstrts coming down, most cannot handle giving back all the earned gains. I have discovered this to be a key factor instrenght developing because I don't let it bother me that I just gave back 100k.
When the retracement of the wave is over I raise the STOP and bang it some more with another entry.
TREND MECHANICS = sheer poetry to me
