Trading on Linux

I have 8 hardware monitors. Do I still need Linux? I have dark theme, do I need Linux? I have a blazing fast OS called windows 11, do I need Linux? I never had a system crash in many years, use a standard suite of apps every single day, everything works perfectly fine with 128gb memory, a fast 8 core cpu, and mirrored nvme drives. Am I missing anything by not having Linux?

You obviously haven't used Linux much, because every distro has its own repository of packages, specially tested for it.
We are used to Windows fan boys, your speech is copied over an over on every forum.

Oh goodness, that coming from a Linux fan boy who dissed windows to breath the fresh air of freedom and choices? Now you criticize that windows does not have an app store of the same capacity as the one for some Linux distro? Funny. By the way the app repository on Linux by far does not work for all distros, as always you need to tweak and adjust, and fix, and customize, and patch just to get your Linux OS running the way you want. I don't have time to waste on an OS and it's gimmicks.
Why do you participate in this Linux specific thread?
In an other thread you had a similar problem: the TO had opened a thread specific about his programming language Python and you tell him in that same thread that his choice is shit.
Now, you repeat your same problem also in this thread.
I would say you have a deficit in your head. Are you maybe a psycho?... :)
Just be happy with your Windows, and leave us Linux users alone.

Nice. I tried Xfce but KDE Neon is just prettier and everything is ultra fast with the animations turned off.
There just isn't much fat to cut off if at all with the animations off.

I really like having a user account that is not for screwing around surfing the web but for productivity. That has really been a good boost for me.
For me the GUI is really just secondary. I instead want a very responsive system.
The idle CPU usage is only about 1% with this desktop.
A friend some years ago had showed me his fancy KDE with animations etc, but I was shocked, as it ate more than 60% of the CPU for the desktop management only :)
I cannot use such a resource monster :)

Not every distro does though many do. So you don't think this thread is full of Linux fan boys either? Yes, each one has their own preferences though I question the use of Linux by many here on this site given they are going to such great lengths to get windows based apps running under Linux. If privacy is such concern then it's funny how they are so willing to provide emails and other login details on public chat forums and on social media or risk getting hacked on crypto websites...

So only fan boys are permitted to post here? That's a rather strange notion. I find it strange how so many run circles around making windows apps work on Linux. Lots of wasted time it seems...

Why would you want to run a virtual machine with windows or use wine on Linux if the app does not natively support Linux? Makes zero sense other than being locked in a religious OS crusade.
yea it depends, what i mean is that in comparison with 20 years ago now is super easy to make software working if options are not directly available. For instance i use mac os and the tc2000 cloud is super slow to run in a browser, so i installed on a windows 11 emulator, parallels, and is running super fast, even if I am doing some coding work with super heavy IDE on Mac(market opens while i am working)

And how is this useful to let all your other cpu threads sit idle and consume about a similar amount of energy?

Very old school way. The much better way today is to run a windows OS and run a Linux distro inside a subsystem via wsl2. Or docker also works quite well on windows now running Linux based processes inside containers. Of course for die hard windows haters or those who can't afford a windows license (chuckle chuckle) this won't be an acceptable solution.

That's not a bad idea, but wouldn't you be running Windows and Linux at the same time? That will eat up resources and slow your computer down. I'd rather be running 1 thing at a time, and I like the idea of having a choice when I start the computer to either run linux or windows.

And yes I am a windows hater and I'll tell you why. It is managed by bill gates, who likes to install all these unnessacery programs that he thinks is important. And these programs connect to the internet and are constantly downloading and updating and slowing your internet connnection and eating up memory. And you can't delete them either. It's like driving a Farrari and having the e-brake on.

I am even going to try to install Wine program on Linux. Wine will let you run windows applications on Linux, but they don't always work.
