Bar fights, parking lot fights, club fights, and mugged twice. No longer living in bad neighborhoods, woo hoo.

Ok, I'm really not trying to start a fight, but my point is that using MMA or any other "sport" to say one style is the best is probably not very practical. I'd have no problem stipulating that a dedicated tai chi guy is going to get his ass beat by a fairly ho hum boxxer, that any half ass decent street fighter would beat the hell out of a dedicated aikido guy (in the ring or on the street). But, if you take a great BJJ guy, put him in the alley against five muggers and the only skill he has is BJJ, he will be lucky to make it out (of course so would anyone else), but thinking his BJJ skills gave him any kind of advantage would be a huge mistake, because in this case he needs to desperatly try to stay off the ground.

You guys seem to have some absurd misconception that a bjj guy is not allowed to throw a single punch or something. Do you know *anything* about it??? Seriously.
BJJ was tested in Vale Tudo for along time before MMA became popular and yes BJJ guys strike, although crappy compared to someone who focuses on striking.
Strikers cant grapple worth a damn too. Obvious huh?
Whats the point? They will still drop you on your head and sub you in seconds if you dont know grappling.

Do you know what the expression "Vale Tudo" means in Portuguese? Do you know the history of BJJ and that Maeda was a Judo Ne Waza expert? Do you know anything about the Luta livre and BJJ history of Brazil?
