Trading in Dubai

Quote from Scalper007:

No they are not easy. They will spit in your freakin face and cut your weeny off.

There are hundreds of ready, willing, and able, according to my sources!

Quote from Dogfish:

There's only 10 traders full time at the moment as the report says (http://www.ameinfo.com/164393.html), the volume is distorted by a few. stoxx, bund, bobl, schatz and oil are where the big volumes are being done.

Dogfish, can you do me a favour and take a peek at the makers name on the monitor stands of the traders in the picture in the article - also are they standalone or part of a desk?. TIA

Dogfish, thanks for looking, unfortunately it was the brackets that I was looking to know the name of as 3 monitors stacked seems an unusual but desireable configuration - looking to be set up with monitors exactly how the nearest trader in the picture is set up.

They had some issues here with the triple stack on these monitors as the stands aren't really designed for a third row. A lot of the traders at Marex had a third layer using a pole extension as you can see in the pic of my old london desk. The guy behind me there had 12 using those stands. Again I'm not sure who made them but those were actually designed to take the third row. Just put a second pole on and another cross beam like the second row for the full set.

Hi Dogfish

I have a question that seems kind of lame but it's something I can't find a simple answer to and was wondering if you'd enlighten me,having had experience in moving to Dubai.

Can you get any sort of Western TV there?

Either SkyTV for the Brits or DirecTV for our American friends,or for that matter, any sort of TV?Is that a part of life there like it is in the UK and the US?I can't imagine watching Arab remakes of 'Are You Being Served?"!!!!!

Cheers
