I'm in Dubai at the mo, grosvenor house hotel club lounge...bar 44 seems popular and so does parking swanky cars outside... a Merc 722 just nudged in between 2 Lambos.. this place is insane ..like disney land for oldies... so where is the PTG group based...culd live here easy...

You could probably live there pretty easily now.It appears property prices are catching up with the rest of the world and collapsing,the asking price for some homes has dropped by as much as 19% in October from THE PREVIOUS MONTH!!!

Do you have info on the transaction costs for trading at the Dubai PTG office. From this thread it looks like the desk fee is $2500/mo, yes? Anything on the commissions?

I heard mutterings of prop firms sponsoring a eurex hub out there otherwise all orders would have to go to Zurich? This could be a problem scalping. I know a lot of prop guys dying to get out there, surely someone's got to get it organised soon. They have their financial district just built with very fast comms all fibre optics etc just need a hub.

Anyone heard anything on this front?

Steer clear of DPTG but there are a few of us here in the UAE.

Someone told me there was a Eurex hub here at one time but they pulled it because not enough volume. dunno if thats right or not

For the tax thing there is bit of blurb about that on the T2W link above from me, its not as simple as a 40% rise, it depends on the way you set yourself up in Dubai.

Speed can be had though, depending on where you live or set up here. very expensive feeds though!
