Trading in Brazil?

Is this a joke or his Cuba the new place to be if your an American?

Cuba is the right place for US citizens who want to break the law and become criminals. The US prohibits it's citizens from going there - so that's it (as a US citizen) unless you consider yourself a wannabe criminal.
:)

I went there in the mid 90's and it was great. The food was exceptionally terrible because of the US embargo among other things, I guess. The best thing I got there was some fish and some pork chops which were excellent. Vegetables were totally overcooked and salted like they were being conserved for the next millenium.

A steak at fancy reastaurants like at the Melia Cohiba hotel and the neighbouring hotel (forgot the name) in Havana was a sorry affair. Havana cafe was a really cool place (located on the side of Melia Cohiba).

Is it true that they are cool enough not to stamp US passports?

I've thought about trading in Brazil, and this thread got me a little more curious. Its cool that you are offering some sobering perspective on this, but the only thing I don't understand is, if its as bad as you say, what are the upsides that have kept you there "most of the time since '99?"

mmmm lemme think carefully....

true (what do you think got me interested in the 1st place. But he has yet to say that the women have made all the other things he's complaining about worth it. I'm wondering if there's something else.

On another note - if you love pizza - like I do - this will be your worst nightmare - as it seems noone knows how to make a good pizza - neither the italian style nor the thick-dough one(which is a little harder to find).

I actually like the pizza there better than here in the US. It's different, but after a while it grows on you.

I'm rural American and desperate for churascaria with decent meat, the beach, and some latin jazz - before winter squeezes me. And brasilieras too. :D

Booked Varig in November even though its 20% more than American from JFK. They were always good to me in the past I remember. :)
