Nana: I am only interested in taking my desktop box with me ( without my 4 monitors) I will buy 4 LCD's there. So I wonder . if customs will charge for the box?
Nana: What the price/comfort/trading comparisions between Thailand and Brazil?
Well, as with all other countries that i know, taking one unit
souldn't be taxed for indivitual use for a longterm stay. I
have not been to brazil so i can't 100% confirm. You won't
have that Problem with Thailand for sure.
Regards to your second question, i will try to give some in-depth
info with regards to differnet intersts:
Food:
-Any fast food meal for around $2 and any beer for around $1,
Thai meal for around 1-2$.
-Foods are sold everywhere on the outdoor stall on streets.
-there are more than 1000 variety of thai Dishes and fruits alone.
-Chinese, japanese, italian, Arabic,...foods every corner.
Btw not much interst in american franchise foods among tourist.
-Tourism and safty:
Thailand has around 11 Million toursit arrival every year mostly
from western countries. Thai peolpe never rob and kill you, but
treat you like a Boss. (they rob your money in respected ways).
over 3 million forigners are leaving in thailand mostly bachelores.
-Transportation and infurstrature:
2nd most car traffic conjacted city in world, so i think it's not
adviceable and comfortable to drive your own car.
9 miles taxi ride will cost you 2$. You can use under ground
metro, Air train station, and paid express ways. Bangkok is
ranked 6th city in the world for tall highrises.
-People:
Officialy 65 million with another 20 million bordering countries.
Bangkok with urban is 20 million. Peolpe are extremly friendly
form outside (god knows what's from inside). 90% budha, 10%
muslims.
- Entertainment:
some peolpe come to Visit historical sights, Shopping, resorts
that look like paradise, and legandry sexlife. Bangkok city
doesn't have beaches. Pattaya is nearest attraction, and
pukhet, kou saumai, krapi has most beautifull resorts, and
chaingmai has reputation for best standard for living, but
might feel little lonely, because lake of forigners. (70% in
Bangkok alone)
-Climate:
Summer: April-July 28-37 celcious
winter: Agust-Oct 20-28 celcious raining most days
spring: Nov- Feb most pleasent climate
-Language:
it's Thai. Peolpe don't expect you to speak thai, and will be
surprised if you do. english is widely understood. so no
language problem.
- for Daytrading bussiness:
you can lease apartment for for even 4-6 monthes and cost
you 250$ only. Net cafes are everycorner.
I trade from furnished apartment (hotel) for $500 and extra
70$ for ready in-room DSL with damn fast speed you need.
I take my laptop and a desktop with 2 LCDS with me always.
