Trading from a Cruise Ship?

Thank you so much! I can't stress enough how a comment like that can motivate me going forward! Thank you for your positivity and the tips you gave me.

Thank you, appreciate that comment.

Again, you are picky on my words. I have 6 hours a day even to trade, hell I'm even doing a computer science degree while onboard so I have enough time for that as well... What I meant by 30 min is that people though im 24/7 busy, so I said that I have at least 30 min.

I'm not disrespectful to the market, and I'm not new to it, I've been investing for long time and always had interest to it. People like you are so arrogant, and disparaging others, thinking only you have the full right to trade the market, you are the smartest and others are stupid.

You don't own the market, and if it took you 10 years to learn to trade, doesn't mean others can't do it on the shorter term.
Again, I don't understand the hostility, I want to trade the markets, and I understand the risks, and I'm willing to take those risks - I don't need people like you lecturing me about it - just answer the damn question or don't reply to this post.

Thank you.

your posting # 1 said
you were temporary jobless and you taught yourself day trading,

day trading is something that will take many years/decades to master the skill.
it might cause thousands upon thousands of dollars, broken relationship, sunken ship ....
only very few who have strong passion, strong determination, strong perseverance can make it.

wish you all the best mister.

Some people master it from the get go pretty much, there just naturals, the rest struggle and struggle for possible all of there lives.

If your given a plan to that works from day #1 and your stupid enough to just follow the plan to the letter without getting creative, then job done!!

right.
I am sure there are people who are sort of gifted.
they can centre their mind very easily all the time.
and they have good mentor.

most of us are not in that category.

Nobody knows the background of the OP beyond the Cruise Ship. He may be suited for day trading via mastering the mental aspects whereas most can't succeed with a trading plan because the mental game is flawed.

Regardless, not the point of his thread.

The thread is about trading via Satellite with a 5Mbps internet connection. :D

I talked to my mom last night and asked her about those times when she did Facetime with me when she was on a cruise ship. She typically takes 1 - 3 cruises per year with a few friends.

Although its not trading but I don't remember any disconnections or delays in the connection via Facetime while she used the internet connection on the Cruise Ship...not her cell phone (bad connection or sometimes no connection).

I took to Swing Trading 20years ago, profitable from the get go okay in the DOT.COM boom days and after in the sell off.

But Day Trading, still a struggle, Demo Strategy day today, 30% win rate recently, still profitable but only cause improved at holding winners longer.

I am glad I am not the only one that failed day trading. So, I swing trade.

As for OP, it depends on your trading timeframe. If you are doing HFT quick access to the exchange is critical otherwise probably not.

I had swing traded from cruises, from traveling in Asia, driving around Australia, Canada and driving up/down I-5.

Why don't you go back to swinging? Easier, more fun and less pressure?

If you want excitement you can always swing for the fence. :D

I do swing ( not both ways ) for fun, sadly club I go to is shut :(

If I'd of known 20years later, I'm still getting my ass handed to me via day trading I'd of saved the 25k+ for the PDT amount, but hey I didn't.

On the plus side, my day trading is going great, not had a down day in ages :) Pretty much all my days start off with a string of losers -$500 then I pull it back to +$200 to +$500 area, working on not losing the $500 then working all day to get back LOL

Starting to Suspect DAX doesn't suite my style but NQ does towards the close, hmmmm!!

Internet access on cruise ships will be transformed, probably within a year, by www.starlink.com Promises to be faster than fibre as the satellites talk to each other by laser.

In the meantime look at the options strategy called the Wheel if you only have 30 minutes a day.
