Quote from Scientist:
OK, just at the risk of being flamed here:
BMW M3: I -don't- actually think the BMW M3 is a "girlish" car at all. Unless maybe it's red. It is a serious european executive and speed-and-handling-combined-with-maximum-comfort-lover-car. I had a ride in a BWM M3 that I'll never forget - So yeah. I could be biased.
Dodge Viper : IMO only for Bogans (petrolheads with metallica shirts, mullets etc), wannabe's, people who couldn't afford anything better. Generally people with inferior procreative endowment. Particularly the red ones. Again: Red sportscar = Insufficiently endowed. Unless it's a Ferrari. And personally, even there I wouldn't go red.
However, I'm not surprised that FPC and ROCK SOLID advocate the Viper. I mean - honestly - what did you expect?
Porsche: Only for wankers / old daddy's / middle-class working 40+ year-old Europeans. Had 2 highschool teachers who drove one (Germany) - lame. Known a few other ppl who drove one - lame. Still know ppl who drive one - lame. Heard and still hear girls laugh about "Porsche boys" god-knows-how-many times. Lame. Never heard anything positive. Had a few rides.
I think pretty much any German car brand except BMW is lame unless you're 45 or older. Porsche, Mercedes, Daimler, VW, Audi, you name it. I'm allowed to say that 'cause I'm German.
Only credit is to the highest quality standard of German cars - well known as unbeaten by any other nation. This is simply because security standards are extremely high there - Since you must be able to stand top-speeds.
Once I had a ride in a friend's car and he drove 160 on the fast lane on the Autobahn. Not long after, the cops came from behind, wound down the window, pulled out a megaphone and called: "Get off lane! If you need to sleep - There's a resthouse 2k's ahead!" Seldom laughed so much.
This also explains why they're built for speed. As the only nation in the world, there's no speed limit on German highways.
My Personal favourites (All Sports Cars):
Ferrari; Many, Such as 360 Modena/Spider, Thomasso, F40
Lamborghini; Again plenty; Diablo, Murcielago, Gallardo
There are actually a lot of nice Italian cars. Italy leads the world in high-performance cars.
Honda/Acura; NSX & VTI C (I drive one of the latter)
Jaguar; Beautiful and comfortable, particularly the older models. XKR8 (the latest sports coupe) ain't too bad to drive, either. But Jags are iffy to look after. Not what I'd buy.
My dream car: Ferrari F50 Koenig (definitely most powerful and probably most sexy sportscar ever built) Cost: $4.5m+
I'm pretty damn happy with what I've got now. I had a flirt with the idea of getting a "nicer" sports car, but I'm thinking : "That's stupid. You're better off growing your trading account or investing in real estate." Come on, lets face it: Cars are really just an overvalued, unnecessary expense of fun and vanity. If I was still living in Europe, I wouldn't even drive one.
Well, there's always that connection in the brain that says "big car = money = pussy".
Since money and pussy are nothing but slang for survival and procreation, I suppose we should at least be aware that many of us are just prisoners of our own limiting world of human behaviour and thinking. It's all so pathetic, really.
But, I love to zoom up and down the hills... The sound of 7,000 RPM... The VTEC-Click at 4,800... Power slide, foot down through a narrow bend... Improving my time over and over... Yeaay!
Never mind. Have fun.

Richtig, De Tomaso. Hat sich ja irgendwie in einen englischen Slangnamen entwickelt.Quote from gerry875:
hallo scientist!
was meinst du mit Thomasso?

Your words = Music in my ear...Quote from AMT4SWA:
The NSX with the Comptech supercharger and suspension works is a great car! If a person ever wanted a budget exotic, then this would be the way to go. First off, I would buy a clean pre-owned NSX and then add the Comptech supercharger and suspension package. I would then add a set of clean 5 spoke 18"s front and back and you are ready to roll! The NSX is a very good looking car and the reliability is exceptional.![]()
