Trading and Gaming: Any thing to learn from gaming?

I know of two very good game players who became very wealthy at trading futures. One was expert at Poker, the other at Chess.

I'll put it this way: it doesn't hurt.


Mmmm...Poker and Chess is not "gaming" per se. I think the OP meant video games.
 
It helps more for shorter term trading, such as intraday.

Things that have directly helped me from gaming :
1)Execution. No second thoughts. Just do it.
2)Feel/Intuition. There's a flow that is better captured.

I'll put this another way: if DRW is looking at two academically similar recruits from MIT and they're only going to hire one - they would favor the candidate who showed some prowess at games involving risk and critical problem solving. ;)
