Not a record, but close. Had the luck of being in a decent size ES position when the market Spained its ankle

Between 1 and 5 depending on where I can comfortably place a stop and how strong a setup it appears to be. Today I traded 3 and later traded 5. The reason I bumped up to 5 was because an internal W bottom (10:10am and 10:35am 5-min bars) resulted in a move that failed to break through the high, leaving a double top with slightly lower high. That's an invitation for longs who didn't take profits the first time to take them now, and it's also a textbook short signal. It's obviously a great signal to downgrade a country, too.

Nod, do you mind if I ask you what is the exact time and price of this trade and what is your stop loss (I guessed 1189.75)? Just trying to see what you see -- the drop came very quickly and hard and if you weren't prepared ahead of time you could easily miss this one:mad:

Thanks

OC

This is a blotter thread, they want questions to be limited to PMs, not posted here.

As such I've attached my ES blotter.

My stop on first trade was 1188.75, second trade was 1189.00.

What I saw on that second trade was a lower high after a failure to break through the high following an internal W bottom. Failboat! :D

Talk about a bad hair day! A series of brain fart coupled with silly errors gave rise to the largest losing day of the year as well as the biggest drawdown to date since this noob has been on the prowl for the black gold. Although not much of a consolation, I was able to recover nearly 40%. I was down as much as $14,000 at one point.
