top US warship in collision. Clowns at the wheel?

I have written before that our Pacific fleet would be wiped out in the first 15 minutes of a war with China. We are supposed to believe they are invincible but they cannot avoid running into a freakin' oil tanker. But they will be able to survive attacks by hundreds of massed cruise missiles? These warships do possess awesome offensive power but what good is it when they are on the bottom of the ocean?
More likely discipline has eroded after forced sex, gay and transgender integration brought on by the last administration. When you are promoting people based on their willingness to subscribe to leftist social engineering or their race/gender/sexual orientation, you tend not to get the best military leaders.
Is it possible our ships are being hacked? I have seen reports that cars can be hacked and the government banned semis from being automated due to hacking concerns with thousands of hazardous loads moving about with someone who might cause them to roll over. I remember our drone was hacked by the Iranians, is this the North Koreans perhaps or some other evil doer?
You know, that is a fascinating proposition. It explains something that seems, frankly, inexplicable. Warships just do not go around careening into large freighters and tankers.
I'm guessing the Navy probably would not want to broadcast this is happening either.

Basically the article makes the point that the McCain was transiting the Straits of Malacca which is a very busy shipping lane and there is no way they didn't have a full complement of lookouts on duty. So the idea that human error or carelessness was the culprit seems hard to swallow. Hacking seems likely, but it is possible it was the other ship that was hacked and their electronics did not properly display the location of the Navy ship.
Left unexplained is how a destroyer can allow a giant tanker to ram it. They must have seen it on a collision course, yet for some reason were unable to avoid it.
These could be dry runs for attacks on our warships in time of hostilities. If they cannot avoid tankers and freighters, I wouldn't want to be on one in an actual war. Unless of course it was the USS Nathan James, with Cap. Tom Chandler in command.
