top US warship in collision. Clowns at the wheel?

I wonder if "17 intelligence agencies" agreed with that assessment?

And how do they know the tanker had not been hacked? I heard one of the Navy brass today and he essentially said they had no evidence that there had been hacking. That is different from no hacking. They have no evidence the Russians hacked the DNC but they seem pretty certain about that.

I just read the linked article and it is a joke. The Navy brass clearly have no idea what has happened. They are ordering a "review." Time for some heads to roll. Either they got hacked and still don't even know it, or they were guilty of repeated bouts of negligent seamanship. This is on the heels of the "Fat Leonard" scandal, where officers were selling out secret details of port visits to some scumbag contractor in exchange for whores. This speaks of a fleetwide problem with morale and discipline. Given 8 years of Obama-mandated social engineering, who could blame them but we are still pretending to field a navy, so this has to be sorted out.

Yeah -- and in completely clear weather the U.S. vessel kept such poor visual look-out (which is required) that the ship was run down by a slow moving oil tanker. There are plenty of visual alternatives to relying on electronics such as radar which U.S. naval vessels are required to use. Are you telling me that one of the lookouts would not see the slow moving tanker and raise a collision alarm, sound the ship horn, and fire a flare as an alternative if the electronics were hacked. This all comes down to poor seamanship on part of the U.S. Navy. In both collisions it appears they are completely 100% at fault based on the tracks of the ships.

That's the part that is so hard to get a handle on. How is this even possible? Someone needs to go to prison for this if it was just sloppy seamanship.

As with other ship, the captain, top officers, and top enlisted person will probably be dismissed from the service after being removed from the ship.

These collisions sadly demonstrate how far the U.S. navy has sunk in terms of basic seamanship and watch-keeping.

I'd like to see how many of the responsible people were promoted because they needed to meet some kind of quota.

Fake news?

Perhaps the wars in future would be physically never close to the earth ground we live! Probably too obvious! :D
