I think you make a good point, surely the market needs to retrace, that's what it does.

This is not new NEWS, but we need to be ready to jump in. Sometimes short term market bottoms happen in the middle of the day.

But as long as you enter the previous day or that day you are still fine.

I usually like to enter the market when there is a huge sell off day on the way down.

ah you're talking more in a trading kind of perspective...

I was talking more from an investment perspective where you don't need to buy intraday.

I don't... I just check my systems at EOD, although i'm in good position to talk since im long since March/April on both Brazil and India... if I were in someonelse's shoes wanting to get in i'd wait for some kind of retracement... the problem is it may not come, or when it comes it could be at higher prices... but if you get in now, then the retrace may start... oh the life of a trader

Hey there,

Would you feel comfortable to share how you time the market long term. In terms of statistics, variables, averages etc etc ?

I couldn't agree more that EOD systems are an effective way to gauge action and react.

As before the situation now looks too over bought to enter.

This too shall pass we will have our chance be patient.

Money has to come into the market for us to move higher, it is not the case as yet this year.

We have to wait for the market to retrace.

Good Morning Gang!

The move yesterday seemed more in place, but I was caught off guard with the move on Tue.

Again money is not coming in, vol has been less than average. The market can retrace quickly.

I do not believe in the notion of speculation, I like to call myself an Early Reactor.

I feel confident that if used in the world of options my strategy could be very lucrative.

But I am in no hurry as of now. I want to stick with what works.

Current status: Cash since 28.Dec.2009

Gang!

I hope you took precautions from my post yesterday. The action we saw was exactly what I was looking for.

We had solid vol yesterday(21.Jan.2010).

Now money seems to have moved out. So now we need to be really alert here.

I will be looking for a very weak day, huge move downwards. A day on which more than 70%-80% of the stocks are down.

I will try and post, before 4.00 PM on the day I make my first buy this year.

Our anticipation has been on the dot. Market corrections take place very very very fast.

The overall breadth has come down to bullish numbers.

I am still on the side lines, I would like to see one more leg down before I jump in.

I would not hesitate to get into the market on a weak day like yesterday(may be a little more weaker).

I will have my list of Stocks and ETFs on Mon(25.Jan.2010) morning.
