Top Performing ETFs

The down move last week was quick.

I wish the market would do what I want it to do. But never the less I am looking for a extreme weak day at this point. We are looking for selling exhaustion.

I will post before 4.00 PM on the day I enter.

Here is my ETF watch list in that order, I usually will enter the top 2 or 3:

The market is not moving in direction. Perhaps earnings reports are eagerly awaited to move either way.

I am <b>STILL</b> on the sidelines. I have not made any buy or sell this year as yet.

Average daily volume of ETFs in the watch list above are not high enough in my opinion. I only consider ETFs with at least 1 million average daily volume.

You make a good point. I did have similar concerns too.

But then I began choosing ETFs that have a $ Vol(price * vol) of at least $1 Million per day.

When making actual buys I always make sure to scale in accordingly.

The ETFs on your list has not gone down much. RSX (Russia) and ECH (Chile) are examples.

You should look at ETFs that are deeply depressed like EWZ (Brazil), China (FXI or HAO (small cap)), KOL (coal), SLX (steel), etc.

Do you suggest one should look for ETFs that have been beaten down significantly, for a rebound?

I have never held <b>FAZ</b> or <b>FAS</b> overnight, but they have been very profitable if timed correctly.

The others you have mentioned are standard index type ETFs that have good volume and could work well if that specific industry has gotten the momentum or if the overall markets moves.

I like to buy the best performing ETFs regardless of their industry abd avoid index ETFs.

how long do you typically hold your positions?..1,2,3,5 days etc.?

do you just trade the ETF stock itself or their options?...I only look at and trade the options on ETF's
