to destriero (and all others that can help)

Good grief. Give it all a rest. BBS noobs. It's been going on for 40 years. Unbelievable.

Here's some music for it, I think.

Your perspective is punting from a long vol perspective...If that works for you,and it very well may, keep on punting...No need to delta hedge..

Are you saying you trade in the same manner when short vol??

And dont confuse trading directionally with trading vol...

I was originally answering this question below

my understanding of destriero style is to hedge out gamma and delta , profit from volatility. Is that true? I tried to understand his words, but too much for me since he used too many jargons

with my first post regarding delta vs. gamma hedging:

but gamma adds to volatility though so if he is trying to profit from volatility, hedging out gamma is pulling him back from what he's trying to achieve? Oh well anyway he is the expert... LOL

The question posed by @trend2009 did not specify long vol or short vol., only profiting from volatility which I presume would be long vol.? Do you really profit from vol. when you are shorting vol.? LOL Go back and read my post above and you should understand. If you are still not clear, feel free to ask your idol dest.

I'm assuming you are being sarcastic,as very few are dumb enough to ask if you can profit from being short vol...

You presume profiting from vol is solely long vol.??

Go trade your first long calander and don't let the short gamma punch you in the nuts..

Ok now I know why you are a former head trader (can't believe you made it to be a head trader) in equity derivatives if what you claim is ever true. You haven't the slightest idea about volatility or trading with it. LOL

I will let your idol dest educate you. He's got some major work cut out for him. I am done responding to you.
