Me either. I'm going to see a specialist at the University Of Chicago Hospital on the 24th. We'll see what she has to say. Until then, I've come accross another voodoo remedy. Couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, mixed with 8oz. of water. Next I'll be howling at the moon.:eek:
There is no real cure. Caffeine, alcohol and stress are supposed to make it worse. Luckily, traders are not exposed to any of those, right.
There are biofeedback techinques that are taught to fool your brain into not recognizing the sound. Some people report relief from playing tapes of soothing sounds in their bedroom at night. You will notice that tinnitus is only really noticeable when you are in a quiet room. When there are other sounds, your brain tunes out the tinnitus, much like it would a noisy A/C in your office. After a while, you stop noticing the sound.
Interestingly, tinnitus can take numerous forms, from the common high-pitched whine to ringing to motorboating to pulsative. An ENT's website even has a sound file that plays most of them, but I don't have the link.

I have lost my link, but there was some research being done in Switzerland I believe that involved an injection through the eardrum of a chemical/drug. It was having very good results. You might google for it. Please post if you find anthing new.
Voodoo remedy update. Much to my surprise this has had a measurable effect. The ringing in my left ear, which was much lower, is gone completely. The ringing in my right ear is down an easy 30%.
I did refine this remedy by adding 500mg of magnesium taken once per day, 100mg of zinc. I had been taking a B complex vitiman prior to this and still take it. I also have taken 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinager and 1 tablespoon of honey right before bed.
Remarkable effect in less than 48 hours. Tastes like hell, but if it works...

Spoke too early. Ringing back in left ear, slight but there. Ringing in right ear still diminished, but not what it was that first day. Will keep taking remedy for a few weeks and see how it plays out.
