Time to register your assault rifle

I am all for this attempt. Hopefully, when it falls flat on it's face like it has in New York State and other places, idiots who propose this stuff will finally give up. But I'm probably giving these idiots too much credit implying they will learn from their mistakes.

They're never going to give up because they see private ownership of firearms as a big problem. It's fine to say, ok people will ignore the law, but there are consequences to that and they can be severe.

Some of the people behind these laws are just dopey soccer mom types who don't like scary looking guns. But the pols and activists who constantly push it have a far more sinister agenda. They want us unarmed, intimidated and vulnerable.

Typical leftwing obfuscation. The study defined "kids" as ages 1-18. I am willing to wager the vast majority of those "firearms-related" deaths are gang banger shootings in the hood. Obviously that is not a good thing, but it is failure of law enforcement and social policy and has little relevance to gun confiscation efforts.

Look, man, reckless gun policy causes thousands of deaths. Why don’t you just drop the charade and admit it. There’s too many guns in this country and the only way to get all of this murder down is for people to take responsibility through a registration process.

The nra is an evil organization and you should disassociate yourself from it if you care even a little for your immortal soul.

It's 2018 and Whitey is the leading cause of children deaths in America.

Sure, and that's why everyone is so safe on the Dem Plantations in places such as Chicago, Newark, Ferguson, and Detroit. They are true "safe spaces." None of those nasty white folk.

Might want to try to lay off the kool aid a bit and see if you can snap out of that lefty trance state.

Classic know-nothing argument in the same vein as blaming Obama for the deficit he inherited.

No. Guns make their way into cities with strong gun regulations by being purchased in places with loose gun laws. Losing the chain of ownership from when they were purchased legally is the problem.

First things first, guns start out as legal. It’s stopping them from going from legally owned to illegally owned is the issue. A regular registration showing you are still in possession of your firearm will achieve that.

I don't see where it says legally owned firearms are the cause. Can you highlight that section?

The reason I point this out is that there are millions of illegal firearms on the street already, and any registration legislation will completely ignore these, and they are likely the vast majority of the problem.

So, as usual, liberals like yourself move to close the barn door after the horse is bolted and infringe on the rights of law abiding citizens to protect themselves.

Of course they are. I've mentioned this before when some lefty tried using that study. That's why I asked the question on illegally owned firearms.

I don't have any problem admitting that there are too many guns in this country already. Where you and I disagree is how to address that. You believe that going after legally owned firearms is the answer. Since they are almost no percent of the crime, this is completely asinine.

What vomit.

Says who? You? Left wing news outlets you gobble up without using any critical thinking?

Guns make their way into inner cities through a whole host of methods. Some of it is legally purchased then made through loopholes, but lots are through channels you would not expect (or probably accept, even if shown firsthand) like the police! The fact is that there is money in the sale of firearms, just like there is money in the sale of drugs. Making it illegal doesn't do jack shit without addressing the core problem, just like making drugs illegal does absolutely nothing to the drug trade.
