Tim Morge and the well-chosen example

Dear Maverick,

I was a member of Market Geometry, but came to your same conclusion, AND found evidence that contradicts what Mr. Morge has said publicly (routinely carrying 30+ Billion dollar positions). I will start a separate thread to address those findings.

Timothy Morge (Market Geometry) is not who he claims to be, so please be careful. I also viewed the IB Webinars, where he claims to be among the 10 largest FX traders in the world, and to have three PHDs (Math, Physics, Economics). Through the Wayback Machine, I found he only has a Masters, NO PHDs, and Blackthorne Capital, his sovereign wealth fund which supposedly manages more than 100 Billion, had only less than 4 Million in AUM.

You can view the real Timothy Morge here:
http://web.archive.org/web/20050211033314/http://blackthornecapital.com:80/btnewindex.html

I contacted Cynthia Tomain at Interactive Brokers, and Tim will never be allowed to speak there again.

For anyone interested in really knowing what Cynthia Tomain at Interactive Brokers said about Tim here is an email from her to Tim:

Dear Hyperbole,

Throughout Market Geometry’s Interactive Brokers webinars, Timothy Morge claims to have 3 Phds (Mathematics, Physics, and Economics). This is simply not true. That is deceit (fraud?).

He also claims to teach graduate level students at MIT. Proven to be NOT true.

All Peter Brandt says is that Jack Schwager has NO idea who Timothy Morge is. Schwager wrote the Market Wizards book series. Timothy Morge has stated that he knew Schwager well, from Commodities Corporation, but declined to be interviewed. That is another lie.

Morge was certainly a bank employee. Surely, assets under management grow, but highly unlikely to go from 4M to HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS!

Using the Wayback Machine, feel free to go through the years (and enjoy). Morge has stated that back in 2000, he was one of the largest and most active ES traders in the world! He also said that in ONE year he paid $2 Million for “clean” TICK data. Yet, Blackthorne Capital had less than $2M under management, at the time. Think about that.

I guess there is a fine line between “embellishing” details of your life, and “lying” to market yourself.

Case Closed, and time to move on.

Dear Bam123,

I did call both Barbara Schmidt-Bailey at the CME over the phone, and asked her if they did any due diligence on Timothy Morge. Barbara said it was up to IB to do that type of due diligence, since the material would be stored at their site. I then called Cynthia Tomain, and spoke with her on the phone. She said she thought the CME had done the due diligence on this individual’s credentials. I asked Cynthia repeatedly whether there would be any more IB webinars by Timothy Morge, and she firmly said NO (she can definitely confirm that call).

I am certainly not spreading any untruths.

Unless Morge got 3 Phds in the last 10 years, he is lying about his credentials, which is grounds for dismissal in any field.

Speaking of Barbara Schmidt-Bailey at the CME. Here's what she replied to Tim when he told her about this post. Well said.

Why all the lies about Tim? Maybe this explains it:

Really? If he is who he says he is, he should step up to the plate. I believe he is the one selling 20k tutoring. Would be a comfort to some to know that he is credible. Really don't think a little clarification could hurt, agreed? Easy way to kill this thread. Most likely the fact are somewhere in the middle of the extremes. Best to you Suntrader.

So Mr. Chippy is telling lies??? No, it can't be! hehehe

Are you talking about chipshoptrader?
All of Chippy's ET posts are about Tim Morge and the way chippy keeps repeating time and again the same accusations has my BS meter registering BS.
Maybe chippy is the villain here?
Repeat BS enough times and everyone wants to believe it.

All I can say as I've said in personal DMs to me on here is that Tim's strategy has been logically consistent since as far back as I've watched his classes. It's never 'guessing an entry'. It's a repeatable dialog. It never changes. He has institutional level knowledge of spreads, portfolio management and understanding . To some I've even sent my account open trading positions showing my profits. I wouldn't have seen these entries without what I've learned from Tim. What's important is does his trading strategy make sense?

Really? You sound like an infomercial by someone with 3 post and recently registered.
Ignore the bulshit because rest works? That just wrong. Come on Tim---Chime in and set the record strait. Let the goodness shine.
