The average daily range is 10 maybe 12 points.

why have a stop at all you might as well go hang yourself if you think 15-20 points is a safe stop the market will rove around in a 30 point range most weeks when volitile and not trending why would you do that do you expect a 100 point run every 3 weeks - what a load of crap get real.

Obviously I'm going for 40-50+ point trend moves on a longer time-frame with a stop this size. You can't really ride most of those moves with <10 point stops. And if you use bigger stops, you will give back too much of your profit when the move reverses.

If you have an alternative stop size you like to use to capture trends on a multi-day/week timeframe, feel free to enlighten us.

I thought it was 8 points, according to my MAE and MFE analysis, Cutten...I need to take another look at the ES and re-evaluate and adapt...Thanks.

surely a stop should be placed according to market volatility and time horizon?

actually - forget that question mark as it isnt a question is it - its common sense!

I had a little spare time today to look back and see what other people think of you Michael B.

It's not very good mate.

If I were you I would take Scientist's advice and crawl back into a cave someplace because I haven't seen anyone supporting your shit in here.

In fact I haven't seen anything in here that remotely looks like you are anything but a PUD PULLER.

:-)))

Well what could you expect otherwise from you.

A one liner that is as old as the hills and really shows your IQ rating, probably about 45 I guess.

Once a dope always a dope - and yes I would love to sell you a car because I would stich you up so bad you arse would be bleeding for a year.

:-))))
