this volitility is cause for concern

Quote from NY_HOOD:

whenever you start seeing volitility like this afer a big run up,chances are stocks are going to fall pretty hard. in my opinion, the rally is over and we are going to fall in the the high 8000's.

Good call there NY_HOOD.
I say 9100/8640 is a must for this year.
8000, even 7180 look quite reasonable too, not sure about the timing though.
Might happen sooner then later, you know...

Quote from wrbtrader:

Most methods aren't suitable for exploiting volatility. In contrast, the few that are suitable for volatility...those are the traders that see above average increases in their profit levels whenever volatility shows up.

On point explanation of what volatility means to participants.

Thus, it's understandable why most traders don't like volatile market conditions because they know they'll do poorly.

FWIW, I'd say investors don't like it. Traders love it.

Quote from Arthur Deco:

Bullshit. The only thing high volatility means is that low volatility is coming. Home-brewed definition of volatoilety attached.

It would be nice if you could learn to spell. It is spelled: "volatoiletry" not "volatoilety", unless you intended to use the adverb form, which is "volatoiletly." In either case, "volatoilety" is just plain wrong! I realize that when you are not a native speaker it may be difficult. But please try.

Volatoiletry is when IV goes into the crapper.

VoilaToiletry is when you happily find the crapper!

Then later...most certainly. This thread's grammar and spelling is hilarious.

I believe you mean grammar and spelling ARE hilarious.

IMHO, if one is going to criticize grammar and spelling, one might want to check one's own grammar.

Checked this in word, and it's correct. "Thread's" is plural, but grammar and spelling is singular, so it is "is".
