They want electricity for cars, California cant even provide electricity for homes

The stuff they are saying the last 24 hours makes their motives clear.

People are being told that new insurance policies for homes in forested areas will not be issued. Many people will not be able to buy home insurance and will have to insure through California Fair Value Plan if they can insure at all. Many will be forced to insure through their mortgage lender at a large premium and with no choice. Those policies often only cover the note, not the value of the property.

Basically they are devaluing homes in forested areas trying to push people into the cities.

And maybe writing the (future) play-book for coastal areas prone to hurricanes on the east coast.

Lol @ insurance companies "want" people to move to the cities. Nothing to do with actuaries calculating premiums on risk+profit, no, it's a conspiracy for some secret end.

Wow, right on cue. These losers are so predictable.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Wednesday he’s “outraged” over Pacific Gas and Electric Co shut-offs, blaming decades of mismanagement at the utility.

He made the comments Wednesday morning, several hours after millions of Californians woke up without power amid massive blackouts that have stranded huge swaths of the state without electricity.

Given the potential danger posed by the utility’s power lines, Newsom said the blackouts are needed to keep people safe as powerful winds sweep through the state.

“I’m outraged because it didn’t have to happen,” Newsom told reporters at a news conference in San Diego. “They’re in bankruptcy due to their terrible management going back decades. They’ve created these conditions, it was unnecessary.”

The guy are a far left extremist. When are these people not outraged. Just tell him how much global warming was prevented.

That's the point... it does increase their profits. No conspiracy... just insurance companies being insurance companies.

That does increase their profits.
And raising premiums where they need to be raised also protect their profits. A true capitalist insurer couldn't care less if people want to live in a forest and pay triple, they'd sell them the premiums.

So it is a conspiracy?
:D

In a normal place they would categorize risky areas as "flood zone" or "fire zone" or "earthquake zone" and offer separate policies for that based upon risk data, separate risk pools. Its common across the country, particularly flood insurance. If they want to live in a risky area, let them buy the extra coverage. Fine.

But don't just throw people out of their policies leaving them uninsured. That is unique to California.
