They say teaching is the best way to master your craft

I have a question! What do I do if I am currently in a trade, that was made using noob parameters? Should I close my position out?
No, hold the position into a loss, it's the same thing as a stun gun but keeps on stinging.

I'm seeking a mentor, to guide me in futures trading. I win some, but I lose big too. I feel like I'm making intelligent trades, but I can't deny, retardation takes over too often. I need a mentor. If you're willing to mentor me 1 on 1 in futures trading, indices, gold, oil, over the internet, I'm willing to learn. For free.

You can't learn to trade D1 by following someone. You can't teach PFC pattern recognition. I am a better D1 trader (than vol) and I can't teach it. Certainly nobody any good at it benefits from teaching what they understand to be their edge.

Charity begins at home. Mentor yourself. Futures trading is serious business. If you are not serious, then you are just another bit of chum.

If you are not measuring your trades: plan, following the plan, and their success rate, then you are not even in the stadium, let alone in the game. If you cannot measure your progress, then it is just a game.

If you cannot make progress, change the plan, then measure, repeat. No mystery.

It as "entertainment" until you get serious. Trade like you mean it.

A bit of a digression but how much do you attribute to fate and how much do you attribute to personal development?

to clarify: In your opinion, what % of success as a trader is attributed to inherent, innate, God-given talent...and what % is due to the rest of it (skill development, effort/work ethic, resilience, resolve, discipline, etc...).

I've known many quality traders over the years and most are happy to help a developing trader. Altruism is it's own reward but mentorship is a whole other level of commitment of time and effort. And there is no guarantee of success regardless of said effort. You can teach someone to trade but you can't control their behavior....and behavior is where the rubber meets the road. The only way I would one on one mentor someone if it's a family member or good friend.
