For balance, Walmart released reporting and guidance saying consumers are foregoing discretionary spending for grocery basics. Also, that as inflation has now set in more consumers are going to Walmart for groceries. Meaning the middle class* is feeling the inflation pinch now.

*this will be a provocative statement to some but the true middle class in America doesn’t frequent Walmart. Walmart is or was normally frequented by working class shoppers. More traffic in Walmart suggests middle class shoppers are now looking for savings on groceries.

But still spending quite freely for the most part.... a spiritied mid term election followed by Xmas shopping season and consumers will spend us right into a booming 2022 haha...
Freight rates still moving lower for the most part in many routes so that takes a little pressure of logsitics. Fuel surcharges might come down a bit soon. These are not the swing to soften inflation but will soften consumer negativity enough to go out and keep spending like us typical Americans....
