Some trade the QQQ options but since I have no experience of them I cannot comment except to say that I have read that traders recommend buying Calls/Puts at or near the money and near month.
Being a newly fledged trader, having passed through the spread betting phase, I am happy trading the Dax with its' small spread via IB.
easy2trade in the UK is another broker but comms. are a bit bigger and they do not yet trade US markets. However, people do say that telephone back up is excellent with easy2trade.

i dont think traders bases are all that important in this electronic age, its the markets, both by country and by type, that u play which might segregate different types of investors - as it happens there is not really a lot on elite for futures people, but there are some great insights into options and stocks
