I hate to admit it. But the answer has to be , No.
It can't be a con because that would mean he is, in effect, voluntarily admitting he was wrong to mock masks; to call it a Hoax. Since infancy, he, so far as anyone knows, has never admitted he was wrong about anything. And if he survives he is going to say, "See I told you so, it's just a flu. No big deal, those people who died from it are losers. They were weak and old. They were going to die anyway."

I know how you feel, I normally would not wish ill on anyone irl in such circumstances. Most if not all of us here come together when we learn one of us has a rl problem (except for when Max recently said he lost someone to covid, and you basically said, "I don't care I've got an axe to grind") And taking into account Trump's fucked up childhood, I'd be more inclined to not wish him ill.
But he has been such an unmitigated asshole I just can't do it. He has had decades to overcome that toxic upbringing, to study, to reflect, to grow, but he's just remained a useless piece of shit billionaire playboy from New York City. The taunts, the insults, the mocking of the unfortunate, the mocking of our service people, the "sarcasm" to ask our enemies for help, the "sarcasm" to invite his campaign attendees to assault protesters, and on and on. Fuck him, I'd piss on his grave. In Hell I'm going to sidekick his sternum right through his spine.
Anyway, sometime I'll tell you what I really think.

Ricter, I'm glad I interest you to the extent that you've been going through all of my old posts to find things to use against me. Here is what I said:
This is a great deal different than "I've got an axe to grind, so I don't care". This is me saying that, while I feel for Max and his loss and have sympathy (though he did not specify what happened up to that point in the thread) that didn't mean that I wouldn't try to make sure everyone understood what the true risk of COVID is and what the facts and data are telling us. This is a far cry from cheering in joy "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead!!".
As for your opinions on Trump - you are absolutely entitled to them. If you wish to hate someone enough to see them dead so you can back the bus over them a few times, then that is your prerogative. I can't tell you not to do it, because I've been there. I've hated people with that much venom before. And its done nothing but hurt me - not them. So as I've aged a bit I've changed my stance. I can't think of a single politician I would ever want to die. Not one. No matter how I feel about them, and I can tell you my thoughts about Pelosi and Nader are as dark as I can go. But I still wouldn't want to see them dead.
A huge, massive part of what is wrong today is the degeneration into complete hate and incivility. So I'm doing what I can to counter that, starting with myself.
Piezoe used to be different. Which was my only point.
