good evening,

our system put us short the nasdaq index today when 1403 was broken in the composite. currently holding shorts into the open wednesday. also short MSFT, this trade started as a technically based day trade but a nice profit was obtained and the decision was made to hold. went long NOK but had a poor entry and was stopped out :(.

the market enviroment is extremely chaotic at this time/price juncture due to apparent cross-currents in the psychological drivers of investor sentiment. mechanically following the system to help "smooth" the chop.

having received several private messages requesting information on our nasdaq index system, allow this post to attempt to shed some light.....

i have studied the market and price movement extensively since 1990, and have determined certain numbers combined with particular time frames tend to act as pivot points in stock indexes. gann (losely) refered to this phenomena as the "squaring of price and time". i utilize a "gann wheel" although not in the traditional sense to determine the upper and lower figure of what i refer to as the "death channel"-- that range of price in the particular time frame that direction is not clear and the safest position is flat.

the system has its epistemological underpinnings in cycles, gann, and the various wave theories. however, none of these concepts are used in the traditional sense. i do utilize TA when day trading but it has nothing to do with the index system.

hopefully, this clarifies what i am talking about when i say the "system"

our trailing stops were activated in MSFT @ 52 and the nasdaq index @ the equivalent of 1363 composite. currently FLAT.

will determine next channel shortly.

as you know, our trailing stops closed the nasdaq and msft short positions today at a profit :). the effective neogann nasdaq channel is currently 1357 to 1403 in the composite. long above, short below and flat in the middle. lets see if we can catch the next big move !!

looks like we are going to have an explosive upmove on the open if the premarket is any indication. as you know, our system closed the shorts yesterday and we are currently FLAT. will wait for 1403 to be violated on upside before entering longs. looks like an excting day ahead !! remember, should we gap up out of the channel--- we wait and watch before entering-- this is CRUCIAL !

we caught several nice moves in MSFT and EXPE today both long and short. our index system kept us flat in the death channel of 1357 to 1403. currently totaly flat over the weekend, awaiting violation of channel in either direction to execute index position. hope everyone has a grand weekend !!
