Quote from Thunderdog:

On reflection, we should probably leave marketsurfer alone. He is doing what he wants to do, he defends what he does and he apparently enjoys it. Remember, this is someone who has been at this thing for a while now and has even been interviewed as a "master trader" by some other web site. (Surfer has referred to this interview from time to time. Innerworth, perhaps?) So who are we to argue with what brings him happiness and joy?
For the record, Franz Shoar (another truly great paper trader :p ) was interviewed as a "Master Trader" as well. I think it's just a big PR campaign for the schlubs.

Quote from Thunderdog:

I am reminded of the coach on Cheers, who would take a tumble down a flight of stairs to get a woman's attention. I'm not suggesting that surfer is intentionally putting on losing trades to get our attention. However, when they do arise (with surprising frequency), I suspect he draws soothing comfort from the attention everyone gives him. Essentially, we are providing a soapbox for the tragic hero to assert his righteousness.
Yeah, you're probably right. I mean after all, when you're at -350 YM pts and counting, you can't possibly be doing it for any other reason, now can you?

Just for the record ... and in case Surf starts talking trash about numerology, this is the post that Prof made last night ...

13518 . . .
That's gotta hurt.
Nice call Pekelo.

... and here we are.

JJ

P.S. I don't know ProfLogic from nobody, never met the man, never talked to'em, never seen'em.

But what he writes on this board just makes sense to me ...

Wait.

Um, today was an uptrend, right?

Am I right?

Just checking.

So, if I just bought the dips I made money.

Right? ... Right?

So um, er, is that what you guys were doing over here?

Nah

JJ

P.S. Does Nick Leeson read your thread? :p ... how about Victor Niederhoffer? ... if Pinocchio gives you another 50 Gs can you make good on this trade?, because otherwise, I just don't see it happening.

Quote from marketsurfer:

holding YM shorts here with 13174 being break even. sticking with analysis and short bias.

YM is at 13586, so again, is there a stop loss on this runaway train?

(inquiring, academic, sexy, chessplaying minds want to know)

Here's a chart of YM range bars, otherwise known as Kase Momentum Bars, you ever heard of her Surf? ... the woman who's seminar information I posted last night and you had deleted.

Guess what direction they were telling me to trade in today ... come on, I'll give you three. :D

You obviously are one of the best traders in the world and love to mention your conquests. But picking on a guy like Surf when it comes to trading is like making fun of the kids who take the short bus to school everyday. Not sure what you are getting out of it. I used to rip on him also....but whats the use.....it's obvious from his calls that he loves to buy highs and sell lows. He also loves to rip on trend followers, but then gets decimated as he shorts the bottom of every downtrend.

I am not defending him, but whats the use of ripping on the guy....he is a horrible trader.

Good trade JSSPMK, well executed in a very logical and consistent manner. Great profit taken when offered (much more than I would take) and principal is now protected with a breakeven (+ x number of ticks) protective stop.

Good trading,

Jimmy Jam

... on the other hand, Surf's trade has reached the -400 YM pts mark, there's no telling where this bad boy ends.

If it were a real trade any responsible and professional brokerage would have closed it a loss way before this point or they would have required a large capital infusion to hold the position as it moves deeply into the red considering the high levels of volatility in the markets today.
