By the way, my comments are entirely professional.

I consider the man incompetent. As regards money management, you and he are on the same level. If at some point down the line, perhaps 5 to 7 years from now, Mr. Neidermeyer displays a consistent track record through a variety of markets, I may change my opinion.

Steve

how about the last 7 years, why does this not count?

must be nice to be able to pontificate nonsense anonymously.

regards,
surf

Yes Atticus, your characterization is correct. As I mentioned in my comment, they guy got complacent. In my opinion, the fact that he bet wrong is not the big problem. It is the inept fashion in which he managed risk, and his cavalier attitude toward the people whose money he lost.

In a trending market, even you might have done as well.

Try to think a bit before you post.

Steve

P.S. On second thought I take that back. I have seen your last few calls.

In a trending market, even a dart throwing chimp could do as well.

There, that puts it in proper context.

Quote from marketsurfer:

i totally disagree with you. you are speaking from a position of ignorance of the situation basing your conclusions on inuendo and hearsay.

name one other trader who was ranked #1 or close, blew up, then came back bigger and better than ever. I bet you can't do it.

im happy to discuss trading, traders,my ability, whatever with you, but.....

lay off on the personal attacks, its really poor form.

best wishes to you and allmighty,

surf
:D

Good traders never go broke...:)

our stat software is indicating resistance @ 13324 in the YM this morning preopen. maintaining shorts with stops @ 13337 presently with 3 minute parameter in place. we are down across the board in both eur/usd short and YM at the present time.

lets go do what happens.

regards,
surf

Got a Buy Signal on the YM Surf, as price action plays around at Friday's highs, it doesn't look like it's ready to turn back down just yet.

Of course, I could be stopped out (for a paltry 15pts YM), but this Bull ain't even bleed'in yet.

Re: Niederhoffer

According to a Bloomberg article, VN has some months with a 30-35% drawdown. On the other hand, his yearly return is about that percentage when things are going well.

That relationship seems off, for sure.... seems he is trading with too high risk, leaving himself exposed for another big event.

Quote from marketsurfer:

i entered full size on entry one and am fully committed-- stops @ 13333

best,

surfer

:)

OK, your initial stop was @ 13333, later you changed it to 13337, you still wanna keep moving it up?

(no matter what, you're still gonna be toast at the EOD)
