break out seems to fail today

Oh, just when I read your post about ES breaking out, it was about 20 mins later...and I had flipped to quite bearish on it (though, if you look at my trade journals, not THAT bearish to hold onto my 2420-2430 put debit spread)...
I've been really enjoying this journal. Thanks for sharing. I don't have your background but when it comes to your issue with holding positions, I think you need to accept a simple reality. If you want to hold for bigger gains, you have to take on more risk. You can't hold for a big win if you aren't willing to let a win come back on you. My suggestion: You are already good at scalping stocks. Stick with it. Open another account in another market and try to swing trade maybe futures or currencies. Trade small until the returns justify more risk. Separate the two activities in your mind and look at it as a new skill because it really is quite different from what you are doing right now in stocks. I'm trading longer term right now because I have a job and can't be on the computer during the day. Everything you talk about in this journal is really just noise to someone trading from my perspective, although I am following it with interest and find your three wave concept pretty interesting.

Well that was an expensive golf trip yesterday, thought it was just going to be a typical boring ass summer time friday afternoon, just about everyone in my room had a 5 figure day, and a couple of mid 5 figure days in there too, that bottom on the NQ was soooooo obvious, also SOXL, AMZN, AAPL, so many tech stocks just put in major puke bottoms.
Pretty quiet day so far, was thinking bout NVDA long when it was at 143, but i just figured it could go either way, but not all that surprising to see these tech names grinding higher now and sticking it to over aggressive early shorts, just waiting to see something that looks obvious.
What do you think of the amzn action on friday? i heard it was a fat finger selling 200k instead of 200 shares.
