Oh, so drug dealers will stop carrying guns if they outlaw them. Got it.

In 2012 around 78,000 people were convicted of illegally possessing firearms,of those only around 6,000 were already convicted felons.

As you can see convicted felons carry illegal weapons at a much smaller rate than non convicted felons.Why is that?,because the penalty for a convicted felon with a firearm is much harsher than a non felon in possession of one

8% of the nation's population are convicted felons. Based off your statistics, 7.7% of illegal firearm possession convictions are committed by felons. So felons carry firearms illegally at about the same rate as the regular population. I'm kind of surprised the rate isn't higher, but then again these statistics are only for one year. So they may not be indicative of the long term trend.

Should not be any death penalty for the illegals. Trudeau said he would take any illegals that the US barbarians rejected- so we have to believe him, right? You know, Canadian values and all that, so his Canadian values would not allow him to lie to anyone right?

Without doing research I can assure you that most gun deaths occur in inner city areas infested by drugs and controlled by gangs. They do not shoot innocent people unless those people got hit in a hail of crossfire, I.e casualty of war. It’s bad for business and brings uneccesary heat to a thriving business. Cmon that’s logic 101. That’s were most gun deaths occur and I don’t need data to tell me this. Are there outliers , like a husband who caught his wife banging his best friend, a crazy disgruntled post office worker, a pissed off ex. Of course. Are guns used to hold up people, home invasion yes, but I bet most are never fired in those situations. It’s used to intimidate for the most part.

That being said. The guns that are used to kill that fall under the majority of gun related deaths are probably being used by people with records who do not go through the appropriate channels. Just like the guy buying coke does not go to Walgreens.

So asumming some of what I say is correct, how will stricter gun controls stop the above? Maybe death penalty for owning a gun. Or perhaps looking at drugs etc.

Assuming everything you say is spot on, is that a reason not to have stricter gun laws?

Bad drivers run red lights. Good drivers don't. Is that a reason not to have traffic light laws? Because only good drivers will observe them?
