Sorry, but that's nonsense. Comey should not have said what he did, both in criticism of Clinton and whether or not she should have been prosecuted. If anything, he should have reported the conclusion of the existence or absence of wrongdoing uncovered by the investigation. Period. The AG should then have done whatever they thought was best in the circumstances. As Comey heads for the exit we should take the time to thank him. Thank him for exposing the corruption, collusion and favoritism at the very highest levels of government, and for torpedoing the Clinton campaign. It became so, so crystal clear for the entire nation to see during press conference #1. The guy lays out in magnificent detail all of Clintons illegal activity and then gives her a pass. It was a thing of beauty as the entire nation became enlightened to government corruption in all it's glory. All but the most partisan dolts made up their mind right then and there. We cannot in good conscious vote for someone we know with absolute certainty is a criminal. We'll take our chances with the carnival barker. Thanks Jim.
Trump congratulated Comey for the very conduct for which he fired him! If Trump wanted to fire him for his conduct in July 2016, he should have fired him shortly after he took office. Instead, Trump fired Comey days after Comey confirmed an investigation was underway in Trump's general direction. If that doesn't offend you, then good luck to you.
