What's your long-term view for 2006? I think we are going to see higher prices from here. Your past few predictions have been right on the money, but this time might be different. Anyway, I admire your balls to make the prediction beforehand.

thank you for the kind words.

my long term view only extends a month.

anything beyond that is pure guessing.

Im seeing strong divergence on my indicators, on enough time frames to agree with the bird.
I wont vote though, jinx and all that .

How was the holiday?:D

Just yesterday I read Lawrence McMillan's take on 2006:

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I think he's way too bearish, though.

I must say that I have the utmost respect for Forbes magazine.
It is definitely a most prestigious financial periodical.
anyone positively featured by this fine periodical will be eternally immortalized!

I'm aware that Mr. McMillan has seen a good deal of financial success from selling books and other products. I'd like to know if he's made any money from actual trading, and what might be the dollar amount of his current assets under management?

Anyone know?

hmmm this one is tricky..... Maybe it wont make a new high this month... but it will be rallying towards the high by the end of the month.

I say S&P will end the month at 1286! :)

EDIT:.... sorry but... i changed my mind. I believe S&P will make a new high by the end on this month. Mkts ignoring too many bad news.... and for the most part higher oil prices... until today. Still, i think this will be a fast dip.... still 13 days left in the month. Longer term charts look great. My technicals say we can take 1.5 more down days like today....and still be at new highs by the end of the month. Mkts going higher.

Sorry rubberbird.... but this time i say we will make a new high.

Here there's another "name" 's bearish outlook for the current market:
1-2-3 Model Still in Red Light Mode By Van K. Tharp, Ph.D.
