I have no one on my ignore list. Since the subject of ignoring was brought up, letâs take a look at it.
When it comes to progressives and their techniques for debating, it should be obvious to most that they often ignore the elements of the argument they canât possibly win. Not a bad strategy, really. They then claim to have won the argument, even though they never addressed the actual issues brought up. Then they slap themselves on the back, often bragging about their superior intelligence, not realizing that they might actually appear fools to those who donât subscribe to their ideology, including conservatives, libertarians and others who are equally or more educated.
When progressives get trapped in their own bullshit, they often resort to insulting, name calling, or just ignoring the discussion from that point and moving on to the next argument they think they can win. Don't get me wrong, they win some when the facts are on their side, but the arrogance they obtained through their education blinds them to the arguments they lose. When they do win a debate with facts, the same arrogance they display, often accompanied by insults, is extremely distasteful leaving no desire to be civil with them, at least speaking for myself. But why put them on ignore? No one is forcing me to debate them, or read their posts. I don't need to have an automatic ignore function activated to achieve that result.
The problem with debating progressives is that they don't believe they can possibly lose because they are too fucking smart. This is the same mindset I despise when it appears in government. Itâs the mindset that leads government to believe they can run my life better than I can, which explains why I hate progressives. There is no humility in their intelligence, only arrogance and condescension. The conservatives I know who are highly educated, and several in my immediate family are, never brag about their education, or IQâs for that matter. They have, however, told me how they thought it was funny that so many of their fellow students bought into the same liberal bullshit that they laughed at behind their professors' backs. I think about that often when I read the discussions in this forum. Using ignore would rob me of that daily dose of comic relief.
