Very few Southern democrats switched parties. It wasn't until 20-30 years later that Republicans started winning and taking over within the Southern states. It took that long for the racist Democrats to die off

and did that study correlate those with a positive view to their political leanings?

i assume you understand Bayesian math and can draw your own conclusions with just those few numbers.
