THE REAL REASON THE AMERICAN DREAM IS UNRAVELING

IRS reform? That will be automatic when 1 and 4 are implemented. The IRS is just a creature of Congress. Animosity toward the IRS is misplaced.

A balanced budget amendment is insane.
Re the balanced budget, what about a "soft balance" that focuses on a debt to gdp ratio target, and which takes into account the debt's maturity and rollover profile.

But then, I think we already do that, lol.

A balanced budget amendment is insane.

Spoken like a true Krugmanite! I'd say "Keynesian" but then you'd launch into another dictation of how that's not entirely accurate and how Keynes liked carrots, not squash, etc. blah blah...

A balanced budget amendment is insane, unless of course we suddenly become clairvoyant.

I understand what you are "technically" saying in the first part of your post here, but, a balanced budget amendment is "insane"???

Just call me crazy or clairvoyant, whichever you prefer.

well now, a balanced budget for a family or a small business or especially a large business would be insane, no doubt, I agree. And at today's rates anybody that is not borrowing is insane. But the government? They aren't really a business or a family are they?

Your idea of government is similar to the Association of Basketball Referees getting together and betting on the Final Four.
Whatever.

(Speee...When you put a spending whore on a budget, you keep things under control.)

The people aren't taxed too little; the government spends too much...Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Ooooh...I know that name makes some of you so upset.

Funny ain't it?...Makes me happy.

Crazy probably. Do you mean by "balanced budget" that you can't have more current expenditures than your current income? If so, that is INSANITY.

Yes sir...That's exactly what I mean.
(Hint: The country should live within its means and always have an emergency fund on standby.)
Call me crazy, bro.

(Because of the actions of the D.C. whores, though, we are hopelessly in debt.
The debt will NEVER be paid off.
We will declare bankruptcy and start a new currency in the not so distant future.
But that's a whole nother story for a whole nother thread.)

But, do yourself a BIG favor and start listening to Dave Ramsey, one of the smarter and richer people in the USA.
He can be found all over your radio and computer screen.

He made America a debtor nation for the first time in its history, thanks to his massive spending (and borrowing from the Chinese).

Ronald Reagan was a great man and the best President ever.
Brother Ricci, you already know better than to try your little games on BSAM.
I never said Reagan was perfect.
So, you can carry your petty bullshit and peddle it someplace else.
