The Presidential Debates

It's an important distinction, and one which can be made here, among readers and writers. Who in their right mind is trying to win friends here at P&R, like it's a party?

The friends and influence comment was sarcasm. You may consider it an important distinction but again - the point is whether life will mimic what it was under Communism here in the US. That is what many are afraid of (unrealistically, I might add). Not whether the technical definition of whether it will be Communist or not.

Really? So that's what Wray was referring to?

...When asked about the greatest domestic terrorism threats facing the U.S., Wray did not name antifa. Instead, he cited the kinds of violent extremists historically more likely to side with the president. “Within the domestic terrorism bucket, the category as a whole, racially motivated violent extremism is, I think, the biggest bucket within that larger group, within the racially motivated violent extremist bucket,” said Wray. “People ascribing to some kind of white supremacist-type ideologies is certainly the biggest chunk of that.” The bureau chief went on to note that, when it comes to extremist violence in the U.S., 2019 was the deadliest year since 1995, when white supremacist Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people by bombing a federal building in Oklahoma City...

And then next line:

...Wray did make a statement in line with what Trump officials have said about investigating members of antifa along with other extremists: “To be clear, we do have quite a number of properly predicated domestic terrorism investigations into violent anarchists, extremists, any number of whom self-identify with the antifa movement, and that’s part of this broader group of domestic violence extremists that I’m talking about,” he said. ”But it’s just one part of it.”

As I recall, it was the Intercept that did a good summary of it, this year. I would guess, could be wrong of course, that the shooting at the "black" church alone is enough to exceed left wing based homicides.

So you're defining "bad" in this case by one type of crime - a single homicide event. Homicides are certainly the worst of the worst, but that doesn't mean that because ANTIFA burns down millions of dollars worth of property that White Supremacists are all the rage and the problem.

"But we didn't kill anyone!!" So what? You ruined lives. Can't we just say both groups, ideologies and concepts are evil and should be completely stomped out?

Not sure who you mean, here, as the other group, but no, we can't just say that Antifa's ideology is evil. Anti-fascism is not bad, it is good. The violence is bad.

ANTIFA's ideology is inherently evil. They define anyone who does not want to tear down capitalism and existing society as the enemy --- and then go about violently attacking these people and associated government structures, businesses and homes. ANTIFA is a group with a Marxist philosophy. For over 40 years the U.S. fought against Communism; now ANTIFA is in our streets violently driving a anti-social movement -- with the intent of tearing everything down. Worst of all they have co-opted an anti-racist movement to drive ANTIFA's ideals.

As discussed as nauseum, Biden does seem to have benefited from the Trump campaigns unrelenting lowering of the bar on Biden’s mental ability.

Trump lowered the bar so much that some people were surprised at how competent Biden actually is. If you’ve ever read Sun Tzu you know surprise is the greatest advantage you can have. It’s a force multiplier. It’s how small forces overtake large forces.

The impact of Biden simply being competent, multiplied by Trump’s low expectations for him, juxtaposed to Trump acting like a mad man really may impact this race because a lot of people are going to not tune in for the debates going forward due to the sour taste this one left.

Nonsense. Have they been too extreme? Yes. Are they evil because they criticize the current system and are willing to meet groups like Proud Boys mano a mano? No.

Why don't you read the articles from the recent ANTIFA Raleigh/Durham riots where both political and BLM leaders locally are calling out ANTIFA as both the problem and violent, evil people.

Trump is such belligerent prick that the Commission on Presidential Debates will be adopting changes for the next debate:

I assume they will seek to cut Trump’s never ending interruptions. However, I don’t think cutting his mic will do it, he’s too much of a child. I think he should have to go into a sound proof box.
