People are fed up with government. They are tired of regulation and red tape, they are tired of not being able to pay their bills, tired of not being able to find a job that matches their interests and training, they are tired of having their hours cut back just enough so they don't qualify for employee benefits, they are tired of having to use every penny they make just to scrape by. They hate Obama care because it caused their medical insurance to go way up, and he lied to them about keeping their insurance. They blame the government and especially they blame Barack Obama.
They hate the government because it has no immigration policy and the country's southern border is a porous sieve and undocumented workers and rapists can come across it more or less at will and take their jobs. They think many illegal immigrants will vote for President because all they need to do to vote is get a drivers license. They blame NAFTA for not being able to find a good job, and they think NAFTA was Hillary's fault. They think the country is falling apart and becoming very socialist. They don't know exactly what that means, but they do know it is bad and that we need to strengthen our VA system for our brave Vets medical care and get rid of social security, because there won't be any money for them anyway, and besides it's a Ponzi scheme. They think taxes are too high. They think Obama is at fault for our huge deficit and Hillary is a criminal and a liar. They think Obama gave our money to Iran in exchange for Hostages. They think Hillary intentionally lied about Benghazi. They think Hillary should go to jail for having Top Secret, critically important documents on her home server and would be in jail if she was anybody else. They believe Barack Obama should have kept way more troops in Iraq and sold Iraqi oil to pay for it. They think we won't be able to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, despite the deal we made, and the Iranians are just lying to us. Some of them think we should have bombed Iran instead. They think that Donald trump will stop immigrants from coming across our borders, deport illegal immigrants, kick Muslims out of the country and not let any more in, build a giant Wall on the Mexican Border with Mexico's money , kick ass abroad and send lying politicians packing. They are glad Donald Trump will build up our military, even though it is already built-up, and we spend as much on our military as the next seven nations combined, not including money we spend on wars. They think Donald Trump will 'create jobs like you won't believe' by cutting taxes on the wealthy. They think Donald Trump may punish women who get an abortion, or maybe not. They like people like Donald Trump who reads the Bible, it's his favorite book! They think Donald trump will make America Great Again, but if you ask them what that means they have different ideas about it. They don't know how's he's going to do it , but they are pretty sure he will... but the one thing they are most certain of is that our problems today are caused by Barack Obama, lying Hillary, and the secret, private, for profit Federal Reserve Bank that's destroying our money, manipulating the stock market and wrecking interest rates just so they can get rich at our expense..
Much of what Trump supporters think is true is, of course, unlikely to be. Some is demonstrably false, and some is absurdly ridiculous. But this seems not to have occurred to them. And Trump the consummate salesman, fraudster, and con artist has fueled their fears, suspicions and misconceptions with a nearly continuous stream of intentional lies, misstatements, and disinformation on top of braggadocious claims that heretofore have been the stuff of carnivals and circuses. No one but the ignorant would possibly believe any of it. Hiram Johnson, said truth is the first casualty of war, but it seems to me that truth is also a casualty of politics and in that regard new records are being set in 2016.
