Show me the post where I said the shutdown would make the virus go away. If not, you can retract your claim. What the shutdown did in locations like Toronto where I live is reduce the new case counts to much lower levels. So much so that the US case rate yesterday was 756 times that of Canada. Yes, read that number again, 756 times.

You are totally lost on this topic. You post so much bs that literally a week after some claims you have to revise them because the data refutes your ideas. Like when you said the death rates were fine it was just a bunch on infections leading to no excess deaths. Like hell that is the case. Arizona reported nearly 4,900 new COVID-19 cases and 88 additional deaths on Wednesday, by far the highest number of cases and deaths in a daily update provided by health officials and further indication of how widespread the new coronavirus has become in the state.

The record numbers come as Vice President Mike Pence is set to visit the state on Wednesday. Arizona is among the worst hot spots in the nation for COVID-19.

On Wednesday, 4,878 new cases were reported by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Total cases now number 84,092. It's unknown how many of these cases are currently sick or asymptomatic. The state does not report the number of recovered cases, though it does report hospital discharges.

Tuesday's reported cases looked nearly as high, but that was attributed by the Arizona Department of Health Services to a technical delay by the state's largest tester, leading many cases that should've been included in Monday's report to be added on Tuesday.

The department reported 4,682 new cases on Tuesday and 44 new deaths. The state reported just 625 new cases Monday, compared with the 1,000 to 3,000 new daily cases that have been seen in the past few weeks.

I said amazingly Sweden's deaths from Covid are now so low they are suffering no more deaths in their country than would be expected.
I brought that up after quoting Anders Tegnell their leading public health official on Covid effort said it 3 or 4 days ago. I looked it up to be sure. It is an amazing stat for a country with no lockdown.

Now... to a person with a professed High IQ like you... you would think that you would take that information in and say...wow maybe Sweden has something going on with their approach.

Whereas CA was in lockdown hard and early. And cited as a great example.
It opens up for a few weeks and then the infection begins running rampant.

A smart person might re consider the approach they are advocating.
Maybe realize that the US's shutdown model sucked for many reasons.
Maybe the people in the US warning the virus would break out once shutdown ended were pretty fucking smart....

I live in Canada. Our recent numbers are extremely good. We locked down before much of the US and our citizens on average respect the safety precautions more then US citizens. We complain far less about what is occurring. I'm advocating the Canadian approach. I do not claim medical expertise, or that we have a perfect solution, or that we won't have a second wave, or that I know exactly why our numbers are decent. But I'll take our current virus experience any day over what is occurring in many parts of the world including Sweden and much of the US.

All these theories you have about low risk groups, excess deaths, ... , aren't getting you anywhere you have a cultural issue to deal with in the US pronto and your posts minimalizing the virus threat for some aren't helping in that regard. You are in far too deep and insisting most of the lock down was not needed and that there is lasting calamity everywhere in the economy will not help and it's imo wrong. Americans choose their path on this. The cause and effect lag is seriously impeding decision making and awareness in many parts of the US.
