2 reasons...

1. People can lie when they are surveyed, thinking they will score brownie points in the ether.

2. People don't know proper mask discipline. How many morons out there do you see wear the mask not covering the nose, and/or touching their mask in the front to adjust it, then rubbing their eyeball?

Don't forget the ones that pull down their face mask to talk to the person standing next to them.

I use to post about this about college football / basketball coaches doing such when yelling at a referee that's only standing a few feet away.

Later, when the referee, the coach or players on the team test positive for Covid-19...they were the first to say they followed all the protocols and can not understand how they became infected.

Then there are those wearing the same dirty (infected) mask multiple days without changing their mask, without washing their mask and then touching that mask and the touching their face or eyes (another portal for Covid-19)...these are people with poor hygiene...that's really all it is.

These are probably the same people that don't wash their hands after using the toilet and then think their germs from their hands can not infect / cause harm to others with something like cholera, typhoid, hepatitis, polio, cryptosporidiosis, ascariasis, and schistosomiasis.

Luckily, we have vaccines from some of the above diseases.

Its your #2.... I haven't seen one comment from officials about how incorrectly wearing a mask can do more damage then no mask...They shut things down but never address the mask issue

The U.S. is approaching the corner of the COVID-19 pandemic where the discussion has turned to how to re-open America.

The guidance given by medical experts, statisticians, and other professionals indicate most states in the U.S. should have a 60 day lockdown before proceeding with re-opening. Most states started locking down in late March which implies they should start re-opening in late May.

Of course, the lockdown end dates vary across the country with the infection level, urban density, peak infection timeline and other factors taken into account. Lightly impacted states may be less than 60 days; while others may be more.

The entry criteria for re-opening a state is the need for wide-scale testing and contact tracing; most governor's plans clearly outlined this as entry step 1 before proceeding.

Proposed re-openings will happen in stages with low-risk activities being first ("social distanced dining") and risky activities (e.g. concerts) being later. All the stages would have entry/exist criteria to avoid large scale COVID-19 breakouts.

There are also regional compacts to align strategies of neighboring states that are now coming into place that make sense.

I expect there will be quite a bit of news coming out over the upcoming weeks as we move forward. If you have any thoughts or links share them. I would be glad to see North Carolina start opening up at the end of May and I believe this is the plan my state is driving towards.

So a friend on facebook is posting shit from some whacko that says Contagion is a myth and viruses are not contagious. That myth is being pushed to make people wear masks, get vaccines and follow bad medical advice... Hasnk Aaron got a vaccine 2 weeks ago and now is dead and the implication is he did not need a vaccine for some contagion myth and he died because of it (is what the fucktard said).

Seriously... you wonder why we have fucked up responses to health issues it is because we have enough fucktards who post and way more that follow..

99% of the ills of today's political environment are due to the proliferation of social media and the belief that anyone can post whatever they want and it must be true if they posted it.

Good luck with your fantasies. Every successful nation on the face of the earth has adopted the COVID public health policy direction I have outlined.

Let's be very clear the nonsense you have advocated such as "no lockdowns", "only lockdown the at-risk", "natural herd immunity" and the "Great Barrington Declaration" have conclusively proven to be dismal failures.. All of these failed ideas which cost many lives have been buried in the dustbin of history.
