The Opening Orders Thread

very sorry to write this.

But I was wondering if someone would be able to point to me where in the thread the logic of the opening orders only is, if that is provided at all?

Thanks

Actually the logic of the whole thing is the major key, the rest is just fine tuning.

The Specialist receives orders all night long, marked "opening only" - so if he gets a surplus of buy orders, he must walk the price up to gather enough shares from his book to nearly fill the order...then he, himself, sells short into this excess buy order.. at the HIGHEST PRICE he can, to assure that he gets his short shares back....they've been making money on these gaps for centuries, why not join him? I started participating in the openings back in 1981, it's worked ever since.

However, no fills today..sitting in a Holiday Inn in the Gold Country of Calif, a little wide on my envelopes, no automated program...back at it tomorrow.

All the best,

Don

1 fill short HD which I totally screwed up & turned a nice winner into a scratch...
I've been averaging about 1 stupid mistake a week on OPGs lately, which is 1 too many....no excuses, just STUPID

No fills today. But then again, I'm not even participating in the strategy. Just learning and listening. Thanks Don for the explination of what a Specialist does with OOO's. I knew I should have listened to my mother and become a specialist.

DON.... i am sure that you probably answered this question in previous posts, but i couldnt find it. Why do you only use the opening play for NYSE ?? I havent played them but from limited observation i have noticed that when the major volume nasdaq stocks gap open less than 1.0 % they seem to religiously reverse direction quite quickly to close their gap. Any comments?? thanks

the whole idea behind the open play is to catch that opening print on the same side as the specialist. since the naz doesnt have a set opening print it wont work.
go back to dons opens thread 1-4. its all explained there.

I would like to read the whole idea behind the strategy? Is dons opens thread 1-4 still available. I did a search on it, but couldn't find it

Thanks
