The Opening Orders Thread

Don, I admit - I use fairly wide envelopes (about 1% on both sides on a flat open like this morn, no adjustment for beta, even though my fair value calc called for a 0.55% envelope.) I've been bitten using narrower envelopes - seems more consistent with wider ones, though not as many fills, obviously.

Maybe I am still in the earnings season shock - the last one was just nuts for OPGs, as far as I am concerned.

I have my new people max out at .5% when opening within a couple of points of previous spoo close, FWIW. Always adjusting gap openings so that we never have buys above previous close or sells below previous close. We used to be "protected" by the uptick rule, but since it's elimination, we have to remember to do that.

Entered buy orders only with .2 envelope & then manually tightened some prices...cancelled HD LOW & TWX

2 fills long GE & S for 2 small wins

Good weekend to all

Man, 2 fills up about +$450 - cancelled the rest of my orders, and then 20 seconds later I'm filled on CAT (not a good sign when they don't let you out, LOL). Ended up flat for the morning.

Heading off to in-laws wedding after the close, gone on Monday....have a good weekend.

LESCOR, I suggested a couple of ET'er PM you about Tuco, I hope that's ok?

5 fills, all long wins, +790, 8000 shares

A bit disappointing given the gap this morning; I was hoping we'd have a bigger retrace.

Oh well, given the poor streak I've been in with this strategy the last few weeks (missing the two monster days last month while on vacation sure didn't help) I should just shut my big yapper.

Steelers open their season Sunday against the hated Clowns of Cleveland. While I expect about a 9-7 year, look for them to cover the spread, as most pundits are writing off the Black and Gold.

Disappointed making $790? I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
