I thought I read somewhere that the rules for the specialist were reinterpreted, so that he no longer has a negative obligation,allowing them to trade with the trend, can you shed any light on this? What are the specialists "allowed" to do? Does this mean they no longer have to provide liquidity on the open, and thus we are no longer on the side of the specialist?

There has been some "reinterpretation" of Specilist "do's and don'ts" - but at this point in time, the obligation for the openings and MOC's are the same. With NMS, etc., there will be some more research to do on my end. I have my people on the NYSE working on some of this, and will plug you in with Paltalk when I have it all together (hopefully by next week, we'll conference after the bell one day).

mer got me too....-1200 on 2000 shares

dito, here. MER whacked me this morning. -840 on him but I was lucky and had covered lots of my size before he took off!
