The Opening Orders Thread

+450...great when positions pop in the Positions window firmly in the green.

AXP BAC BUD MAR winners, DDS is a widow-maker. Used .3 envelope.

This morning I adjusted from 'previous NYSE' to simply 'previous' . Noticed the NYSE previous was lower than the numbers displayed in eSignal and YahooFinance. Wondering which to use going forward.

Thanking all for the assistance this week

1 fill short LOW for a small win
Good weekend to all

Same here, almost qualified for social security by the time LOW stopped teasing and bucking the market. Made me lighten the position a bit, so only +75 on 2000 shares.

I know you all were devastated by the surprising Steeler loss at Arizona on Sunday. Look for a nice snap back this weekend when they host the Seahawks at Heinz Field.

What I do is use the Previous close vs. the "last" (consolidated quote) on my program for price determination. But then, I check my Redi to see "last trades" on the ECN's to see if there is a major move, and adjust my prices accordingly.

FWIW,

Anybody see that headline crossing on Bloomberg a few minutes ago, saying NYSE will begin opening stocks automatically at 9:30 starting next week. ??

It's the first i've ever heard of this, what exactly do they mean by that anyway, can anyone elaborate? Don?

No specialist intervention.....however, it only applies to stocks with no order imbalance. If there is an order imbalance, the specialist still opens it.

Yes, Mike has it right...and, since we only get filled on order imbalances anyway, should be a non-event, IMO.

Mschey, you haven't registered for this yet...filling up fast.
