Yes, but they're not going after PEOPLE. Just going for fines. Fines have been paid, most of them - if not all - slaps on the wrist only. This one will likely be the same.
Until PEOPLE start going to jail for fraud and corruption, fraud and corruption will continue. Why not do it, if you make a ton of money, have almost no chance of being caught, and when you are caught, you don't get in trouble?
I completely agree that anyone committing massive fraud should be imprisoned and should be sued for every penny in a civil suit, I would also love to see corrupt bureaucrats and politicians jailed for their corruption.. it just isn't going to happen. I only posted because this ridiculous lawsuit seems to fit in this thread. It is hard to comprehend why, in such a target rich environment, this panel put together by the admin decided to go after JPM. IMO from memory, jpm had some of the cleanest hands as far as the 08 meltdown.
