Obama was constantly criticized for his moderate policies by progressives, healthcare bill was called Romneycare, maybe you were not active in politics those days but I remember.
This is how I remember it too. Biden's like Obama in most ways, including his unwillingness to scrap & instead get rolled into bad faith "compromising" while holding a thin majority. Obama is a very good orator plus he symbolized progress for many for who he was.
Quite active.We wanted more sure but letting people get ins with pre existing conditions and getting millions health care was acceptable.And we appreciated how hard he fought for it,especially in the middle of the financial crisis.Obama built on Clinton getting millions of children health insurance with CHIP and Clinton tried hard for health insurance for all.The next in line was supposed to get the medicaid option for all but thats not even on Bidens radar,although he did promise it

Dem Presidents don't really have much power over red state Senators anyway, in fact going against the WH is better for re-election prospects.
How do you expect that to pass with 50 senators when Obama couldn't do it with 59?
Clinton didn't get his passed,but unlike Biden he fought hard for it.
