In any event, organizing a peaceful rally to question the results of an election is well within the president official duties. Trump did nothing illegal.

The president is a different story. The avenue for convicting a president is impeachment and conviction. If Trump was convicted in the impeachment trial, then yes certainly he could be charged later. If SCOTUS allows this to stand, no president will be able to effectively govern going forward and this is likely what the radicals want. impeachment is a removal of office process in the Constitution....it does not replace the criminal system or free a president to commit criminal acts simply because his party has the majority in Congress...

take the Loss on this one and move on...

If a president is indicted and covicted of a felony charge..he has no immunity from prosecution when he is no longer in office.

A president is not immune from criminal charges period. A president can perform their job easily under this doctrije by...um....wait for it.....NOT COMMITTING A FELONY.

Whether you feel trump committed a crime or is under attack from the Left is a step below toilet paper...still doesnt change the fact any president does not have immunity from criminal prosecution for computing a felony.

And where is Mr. Pompeo in all of this? He must be reposing somewhere out of sight waiting to pounce when the opportunity presents itself. If there is anyone who scares me more --- a lot more --- than Donald Trump, it's Mike Pompeo!

Correct, but he is immune from criminal prosection for official and unofficial acts during his presidency. Otherwise, you would be able to prosecute an ex president for say, killing Qasem Soleimani and presidents would be thinking twice about what they do during their term and not conducting affairs in the best interests of the country which Trump did.

No----Nixon was going to be impeached and convicted. He certainly would have been eligible to be indicted if he had been impeached and convicted and Ford hadn't pardoned him. His acts were neither official nor unofficial acts of his office. They were high crimes. Trump has committed no criminal acts. He set up a peaceful rally and offered National Guard troops which Pelosi declined. That's not an insurrection.
