All that being said, Trump has already been acquitted in The Senate. There shouldn't even be a case pending.
More impartial I contend than a DC jury.Hardly an impartial jury.
No----Nixon was going to be impeached and convicted. He certainly would have been eligible to be indicted if he had been impeached and convicted and Ford hadn't pardoned him. His acts were neither official nor unofficial acts of his office. They were high crimes. Trump has committed no criminal acts. He set up a peaceful rally and offered National Guard troops which Pelosi declined. That's not an insurrection.

Presidents have immunity from criminal prosecution for official or unofficial acts during their presidency that they have not been impeached and convicted for. In this case, it's clear to even the folks bringing the charges, that Trump has done nothing illegal. And when there is a Senate trial that has resulted in acquittal, there can be no charges later. It doesnt matter your opinion on whether he committed a crime or not in your eyes..that is not the question. Does he have immunity from criminal prosecution...NO.
Stay on topic.
Well I think I did say in my posting that Nixon would have been eligible for prosecution etc.Crack a book man...a grand jury was in the works...it was not stopped because he resigned..it was stopped because he was pardoned..
Swing and a miss!
Resigning does not absolve you from criminal prosecution...
You are 0-4 with 3 strikeouts and a weak grounder back to the pitcher..
